It is timid, and always curls itself up in a ball. If attacked, it flares up its back for protection.
She waited, but it looked like the red thingamabob, the Pokedex, was done. That was pretty neat! This would help her immensely. Emory, who was asked to stop and stand still as Grace directed the Pokedex's sensor at him, beamed up at her with his snout raised in the air. Hmm.. He didn't seem all that timid. Not that she was complaining. The fire part was pretty cool, because looking at her little buddy right now, with his back extinguished, he looked like a harmless baby. Little cutie. Cyndaquil was the best Pokemon she'd ever had!
"Emory! It's only been like a few minutes, but I love you already!" Away from the imposing figure of Ms Franklin, Grace felt her reservations and need for composure disappearing. Just her and her Pokemon. "We're gonna have so much fun and maybe have to kick some butt a little"—yikes—"but it'll be great!"
Their brief pitstop included Grace sorting through her newly received items. The "Pokemon stuff" were reserved their own special pocket. She used her best cursive for her signature on her official trainer card. Grace fiddled with the Pokenav uncertainly. It was for communication, if she remembered correctly, though with whom she wasn't sure. There was no way she could contact her friends at home with this thing. The new items didn't weigh so much more, but when she put the backpack on, Grace felt a lot more weight. Probably the weight of responsibility and duty of this coming adventure and all that good jazz.
They continued, Grace slipping the device back into a pack pocket, and little Emory skipping alongside her. Ms Franklin's cottage and the expansive ranch was just fading out of view behind them, and it appeared they were now in the wilderness.. Aside for the man-made path they were following. She's not gonna lie, a faint feeling of nervousness settled in again. This was a very different change from the hustle-and-bustle of the city. Where there was a person at every street corner, here, she had no idea when she'll see another human face. She was by herself.. in the wild. Well.. Maybe not completely, she optimized, glancing at her new pal, furry and fiery.
