The head of route 1, the first leg of any one's journey. The though of how many feet stood right where she was right now was outstanding, it made her almost feel so small in this big world humans shared with Pokemon. A soft gust shook the tall grass wafting the scent of dew into the air. At the head of the route was a young woman stretching out her limbs in preparation for the very long journey ahead of her, her arms stretched high above her head until she heard her shoulders pop. Straightening her light purple pigtails she glanced over to a small pond several feet from where she was and whistled softly. A blue head poked out from the surface and a Froakie slowly climbed out of it's cool hiding place.

The starter bounded over to his partner clambering up her leg and settling on her shoulder. "Are you ready Ryker?" The Froakie shivered lightly, fearful that he may not live up to the expectations that Lisa had for him. Why hadn't she picked the Chespin? It had been so friendly toward her but she had turned it down for him and- his thoughts were broken as she softly rubbed the side of his face. "Hey it's okay. I have high hopes for you, I know you can do this." Her words calmed him down and he nodded, feeling more confident in himself as she turned back to the route in front of them.

With a deep inhale of the area's fresh air she steeled her nerves and nodded firmly before walking into the tall grass. Excitement raced through her, her journey was finally beginning.

Lisa wasn't the only one currently excited to be around the Froakie. A pair of yellow eyes watched from the bushes as the frog hopped out of the pond and onto his Trainer's arm. Usually, the snake was stuck eating only Pidgey and Spearow eggs, but today a tasty looking new surprise he had never seen before was in his reach. Its skin looked similar to that of a Poliwag's, one of his favorite rare meals. And considering he had never seen this kind of Pokemon before... It would be even tastier, no doubt! But there was a human in the way... And if he remembered anything about humans with Pokemon, he would have to defeat the frog before he could claim it as his own.

The long, purple Pokemon lunged out of his hiding spot and landed in front of Lisa almost immediately after she walked into the tall grass. "Ekans, Ekanssssss," he hissed, coiling up as her made spitting noises in an attempt to threaten the duo. Ryker would be able to interpret his words as 'I'm coming for you, you tasty looking snack!' The Ekans then glared and bared its fangs, intimidating Ryker so that he would be too scared to do full damage with any of his physical moves.

A Wild Ekans appeared! You may battle it or attempt to run.

The Ekans plopped itself down in front of her and sent her reeling back in surprise. It hissed at Ryker and the Froakie just about jumped out of his skin at what it said. Lisa couldn't translate but she figured by the way Ryker had tried to hide behind one of her ponytails it wasn't good. The way the poison type was staring right at Ryker, from what Lisa could gather that could mean this Ekans had intimidate and that did not bode well for Ryker. Taking a few cautious steps back she began formulating a plan, glancing frantically at the high tree branches and the loose dirt that was at her feet. Yes it could work. Scowling at the poisonous snake and digging her toe into the dirt she thrust it out sending a cloud of dust in the Ekan's face.

"Ryker!" She called to her partner and pointed to the trees, removing himself from her he swiftly made his way toward them bounding onto one of the high branches. "Use bubble and keep hoping from branch to branch!" The Froakie responded and shot bubbles from it's mouth right toward the Ekans. Lisa in the mean time headed straight for the opposite direction in order to escape the poison type pokemon. Knowing this brash pokemon it would go after it's target, especially when it had just attacked it.

The Ekans hissed in fury as the annoying human girl kicked sand in his eyes. He couldn't believe that human! These were supposed to be fights between Pokemon! He tried to follow her sent to give her a taste of her own medicine, but then he felt a Bubble attack hit the back of his head. Thankfully, he had a pretty tough skin to non-physical attacks, but there was no doubt the Froakie was strong, and the element of surprise added quite a lot of damage.

Bubble did 10 damage!

Ekans' HP: 39/49

He knew he would have to get that frog out of the way before any sort of revenge could be done. Shaking the sand out of his face, he used his accute sense of smell to locate the Froakie in the trees. Ahhh, there he was. He would soon learn that his distance didn't make it impossible for him to be hit. Ekans hissed, and then spat from his mouth poison barbs towards Froakie, hoping to knock him out of the tree if anything.

It hit, but barely. Fortunately for Ekans, it hit in just the right spot to Poison Ryker, and also make him loose his balance- not enough that he couldn't recover from, but he would definitely need to recover. Ekans hissed in delight, hoping to watch the tasty snack topple down to the floor.

Ryker has taken 8 damage! Ryker is now poisoned! At the end of every post of Lisa's, Ryker must take 3 damage.
