[/b]. You should know what this means, but as a brief reminder, no content that is sexual, overly violent, or contains offensive slurs. This rule applies on IC forums, OOC forums, the Shoutbox, and yes, even private messages.
[li][/li] We ask that you stay as active as possible, however, we do not have an activity requirement for solo threads. We understand life gets hectic and you cannot always keep up with things! However, if you are sharing a thread with someone and holding them back without informing them of your hiatus time, after one week of inactivity you will be skipped in the thread and your partner(s) are free to advance without you.
[li][/li] We do not have a word count / post length limit. However, expect a response that is the same quality as what you produce. If you are RolePlaying in an admin-controlled situation such as a wild Pokemon battle and your posts are all one liners, we will give about the same length in response, leaving you with a rather undeveloped potential partner and a boring battle. Try to be as interesting as you can. (On that note, we would really appreciate it if you didn't ramble on about irrelevant things; word pooping is never fun to read.)
[li][/li] Though we don't have length requirements, we do have grammar requirements. Please write in proper English and grammar. If the staff is having such a hard time interpreting your posts that we cannot adequately respond to them, we will ask you to fix it before you can progress.
[li][/li] There is no limit of how many characters you may have, as long as you can manage them all. That is up to you to decide how responsible you can be and if you can handle a large load.
[li][/li] At the moment, regular members may have an unlimited amount of adventuring beginning trainers, and one "experienced" trainer character. Staff have these same limitations, but are also required to create one Gaia Ranch helper character (which does not count as their experienced trainer). Everyone must start with a beginning trainer. Beginning trainers must travel the order of routes / civilizations as they are listed on the forum, with required staff-approval to move on to the next one (worthiness deemed different for every character), and back tracking allowed whenever. Experienced trainers may start threads wherever they like.
[li][/li] No Pokemorphs or Gijinkas. We are sorry this rule is in place and if we get enough requests we may be willing to change it, but as of right now, we are wanting to stick with the canon universes of the Pokemon games and not enough evidence for either of these species has been given. Characters with special powers that have been repeatedly shown in the universe (psychics, ability to talk to Pokemon) must have their abilities be to an absolute minimum to avoid giving them advantages over others, and must have a lengthy explanation in the History section of their application to explain them.
[li][/li] No god modding or power playing. The only characters you are allowed to play are your own trainers and the Pokemon that they have caught- this includes wild Pokemon you are battling with and staff controlled NPCs.
[li][/li] Write in third person past tense.
[li][/li] Keep in character in the IC boards, and keep out of character in the OOC boards. When you must speak OOC in the IC threads, please signify it in some form. Especially try to avoid bringing OOC grudges into IC forums.
[li][/li] Most importantly, be respectful. We shouldn't have to explain this. This is pretty much the only way you can be banned. If you are ever feeling bullied or harassed, please contact a Staff member and we will take appropriate action. You may even complain to Staff if you feel like a particular staff member is treating you unfairly. We want this to be a safe place for all.
