Water. So much water! He had seen the ocean once when he was a child and this boat ride did him no favors in reminding him just how much he disliked large bodies that dreadful blue liquid. He didn't even know how to swim, he was born in a desert for pete's sake! Not to mention how unpleasantly cold and wet it made everything. Ohh well, at least the long ferry ride was over now. Now he found himself walking a mile down a pleasantly paved road (albeit somewhat worn down from so many feet walking down it) from which all manner of different pokemon could be seen in the distance as they lived their lives. Honestly, Wesley had probably seen more kinds of pokemon being kept in this small section Caspian that he had in the last eight years of his life. Not that that stop him at all. From the moment he got off the boat he had strapped his backpack to his back, pulled his faded brown hood over his head to protect his eyes from the sun, and walked down the path without stopping even once to look at the scenery. That was probably why he was going to be the first to arrive at the aforementioned cottage, considering most of the other newcomers from the ferry had taken their time to get their land legs back or to admire the pokemon. Idiots. They were just pokemon. Its not like they hadn't seen em before. Then again perhaps that was part of the whole 'journey' thing his mother wanted him to experience... Bah, whatever. It's not like he wouldn't get another chance later if he felt like it.
Ahh! There it was. His burgundy eyes flitted slightly to the building in the distance, maintaining their usual half-hearted stare. It was a little surprising that the starting point for so many people would be such a small building. It was probably for the best though. A larger or grander place may cause others to feel intimidated or uncomfortable, and others to feel delusions of grandeur for their 'grand journey'. Yeah, this was good. A nice humble beginning. Hopefully the process for getting his 'starter kit' was as simple as the building was.
When he got to the door he stopped for a moment. He stared at the door silently as he wondered briefly to himself what kind of pokemon he'd want. He didn't much care, but hopefully it wasn't anything hyperactive or flighty. It would have to be something grounded... yeah grounded. With a nod his simply and silently let himself in through the door. He looked around the inside of the building for some waiting face, but when he found none he sighed internally. Maybe he had come too soon. Ehh, whatever. He turned his attentions to the belongings that decorated the cottage. At first glance it seemed rather humble, but now that he looked he could see hidden gems here and there: things that could sell for a good sum if they were real. Not that he'd take anything... yet. After walking around and silently perusing for a little bit he stepped even futher in to call out for someone when suddenly he stepped on something. Huh... a someone had dropped a pokeball on the floor.
(Wanted to type more but I've got to head to work. >.< Hope its good enough)
