Basic Trainers
Basic Trainers are the most common of trainers. They travel through the land collecting strong Pokemon so that they can challenge the 8 gyms and move on to the Elite 4 and hopefully become a Champion. Once they have earned a badge, they may move on to the next Gym on their journey.
Pros: You pretty much have freedom to do anything you want, in terms of catching Pokemon. You'll probably be the strongest class on the forum if you're interested in challenging others.
Cons: You can't be as original and specialized as the other classes, and everything is pretty one track and straight forward.
Coordinators
Coordinators partake in Pokemon Contests, and focus on perfecting their Pokemon's skill, grace, and beauty. Once they have earned at least a 3rd place contest ribbon, they may move on to the next contest. Their goal is to place in the Caspian Grand Festival.
Pros: Probably the class where you get to be the most original. You get to be descriptive, and come up with beautiful attack combinations. Contests are also very fun. Oh, and you and your Pokemon get to dress up super cute.
Cons: Due to the nature of contests and how we must plan them, your character may have to wait up to a week in one town for the next contest to begin. I highly suggest taking on another character if you play a coordinator to prevent possible blocks. Also, if you are not a descriptive writer, you may not fair to well in contests.
Breeders
Breeders roam through the land, raising Pokemon and learning how to care for them the best ways they can. Once they reach the League of Champions, they have their Pokemon examined by an organization of some of the world's Top Breeders to deem them worthy of receiving and Official Bredeer's License.
Pros: You get 3 free Pokemon eggs- one at the start of your journey, one at Flores Town, and one at Ionian Town. This class is highly recommended for those who don't like the combat system, as it is possible to go through your journey without battling anything. You also can advance through cities and towns without challenging gyms or partaking in contests, so it's a very fast paced journey.
Cons: Some people may be turned off by the lack of gyms or contests. Also, most of the starting Pokemon you receive are on the weaker side compared to the rest of the classes.
Specialized Trainers
Specialized Trainers are one of these three classes, but only use one type of Pokemon, similar to Gym Leaders. They receive a charm at the Gaia Ranch that attracts Pokemon of their type to make catching easier.
Pros: You're a lot more likely to catch rare Pokemon, due to the Charm. You also have the capabilities to completely destroy certain Gyms if you go with a basic Trainer.
Cons: There are some Pokemon you straight up won't be able to catch. Also, there will often be stretches where you are unable to find a Pokemon of your type (such as Grass types through Mt. Polyphemus). The more rare your type, the less likely you will be to catch any. Also, for those going with a basic Trainer, some Gyms will be very, very hard to get through.
